Howard Dean, former Vermont governor and current chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is headed to New Mexico as part of the DNC’s Register for Change bus tour on Thursday.

Dean and the Register for Change bus will make three stops in New Mexico, in Santo Domingo, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, along with some minor star power: Los Angeles Lakers point guard Derek Fisher and actor/producer Kal Penn (star of the Harold and Kumar movies) will be riding the Register for Change bus. There will be local political star power involved as well, with U.S. Rep. Tom Udall — the current U.S. Senate candidate — and his wife, Jill Cooper Udall, riding the bus with Dean.

The bus will roll into the Casa Solana Shopping Center parking lot in Santa Fe at 10:15 a.m. From there, the bus will head to Santo Domingo and the Santo Domingo Community Center at 1 p.m. Finally, the bus will head to Albuquerque for a stop at 3:15 p.m. at the Albuquerque Campaign for Change office parking lot at 3523 Central Ave.

The Register for Change Tour kicked off in Crawford, Texas in July.  I was there to cover the event in Austin, Texas.
